We all have an ideal of what kind of life we want to have.
However, even if you have an ideal life, you probably feel that reality does not work out so well.
There are many factors that make up your current life, such as money, work, and relationships, to name a few, but do you also feel that these factors are the cause of your current life being far from ideal?
It is said that anyone can get out of their current situation and become the person they want to be. However, many people do not know how.
In this article, you will learn how to reform yourself, from your current situation to your ideal self, and change your life to any way you want.
Know that “you can do what you want.”

Anyone can achieve these desires to change the status quo or to become a more ideal person.
If it is something that we truly want to do, we are able to accomplish it, even if it seems difficult to achieve or there are reasons why we think it is impossible.
The prominent figures in various fields who are active today did not necessarily have outstanding talent from a young age, nor were they always at the top of their class as students.
They have simply made choices and taken actions to achieve the goals they have set out to achieve.
When a person strongly desires something, the stronger the desire, the more he or she will take the necessary actions to reach that goal. And by repeating that action, they will eventually achieve it.
It is not something that only special people can do. Everyone has the ability to achieve what they want, even you.
All it takes to achieve what you want is to first set a goal.
Set the goal outside the status quo

When we read self-help books, we often read that our goal should be clear.
However, there are many people who end up not doing anything even if they have clearly defined their goals. What I would like to recommend is to make the goal that is outside of the current situation, even if it is not so clear.
For example, suppose you have an goal to be promoted to the position of general manager by the age of 40 at the company you are currently working for. At this time, this department head is an goal that you can already see from the status quo you are currently in.
A goal outside of your current situation is a goal that is far removed from your current environment.
For example, if you are currently working as an office worker, your goal should be something far removed, such as “I want to become a famous author.
Why do you need to set such a goal?
Because the specific methods necessary to realize your ideal self, your life goal, do not exist in your current environment or in the world you see.
In other words, right now you are only seeing the environment in which you are situated. In other words, you are likely seeing only what you can see from there and not the world around you.
If you set your goal in a place far away from your current environment, your vision will expand, and you will be able to see things that you could not see before all at once.
By expanding your vision, you will be able to see how to achieve your goal. Recognize that the way to achieve your goal is always outside the status quo.
Beliefs determine limits

Often it is said that what we accomplish depends on what we believe.
We all have beliefs. We create patterns of perception called “brief systems,” and these are very strong.
For example, let’s say you make a mistake in a presentation at work and your boss is disapponted with you. Then you start to recognize that you are not good at presentations. Then, just by remembering the boss’s face, you keep thinking about the fearful experience of failure over and over again.
Gradually, your brain creates such a pattern of recognition, and you begin to experience symptoms such as trembling at the mere mention of your boss’s name in a completely unrelated context.
In this case, the reaction of trembling at the mere mention of the boss’s name comes from the awareness that “presentation = I am bad at it”. This pattern of perception is called the “Brief System”.
And this brief is created by accepting someone else’s words.
If, as in the example, you have the brief that you are not good at presentations, it is created by accepting the words of someone who told you so or indecated at you for that failure.
If someone keeps telling you that you are not good at presentation, even if you think it was just a little bit of a failure, you will gradually start to feel like you are, and you will lose confidence in yourself.
You then create a belief system within yourself that you are not good at presentations.
In this way, beliefs are created by accepting the words of those around us.
When beliefs change, limits change.

When you want to get out of your current situation, the most effective way is to change your brief system.
There is a famous story about the brief system.
On May 6, 1954, a track and field athlete named Roger Bannister succeeded in running 1 mile (1609 meters) in less than 4 minutes, which was said to be absolutely impossible.
Until then, it was said to be absolutely impossible to run under 4 minutes, and even more difficult than climbing Mount Everest.
Interestingly, over the next year, nearly 40 athletes were able to run 1 mile in under 4 minutes, and records were kept broken.
Why did this happen? Because many athletes began to realize that it was possible to run 1 mile in under 4 minutes.
Until then, they had developed a brief that less than 4 minutes was impossible. They had set a limit for themselves with their own brief.
But when Roger ran under 4 minutes, the other athletes’ briefs changed. The brief became, “It’s not impossible, it’s possible”.
Again, the brief is an entity that has been imprinted in a person’s brain by the person, and the brief determines his or her own behavior and limits.
That is to say, if the brief itself can be remade, a person will be able to act beyond his or her previous limits.
Have a vision

I will now explain how you can remake your brief system.
The most effective way to do this is to have a vision.
I myself have read many self-help books, and many of them recomend having a vision. However, those don’t mention exactly how to do this.
The definition of vision in this article is “what a person sees themselves and the world in the future after achieving a goal outside the present.”
First, relax and let your imagination be flexible. Feel free to picture your future and the world as you see it in the future.
What kind of job would you like to have, how much money would you make, and with whom would you work? What community would you belong to, what kind of house would you live in, and with what kind of family?
Try to imagine these things in as much detail as possible.
It is not enough to just picture your ideal life. For example, if you want to earn several times more than you do now, you need to be in a position to deserve that income, and you need to have a job with that much responsibility. Imagine all those details.
Imagine not just that your income is increasing, but also the process of how you came to earn that income. Think deeply about who you were at that time, how you acted, and how you influenced those around you.
This is the first step in helping you achieve your goal.
Clarify your values

In order to envision your ideal vision, you need to be clear about your values.
For example, why do you work, why is your profession, do you want a girlfriend, and why is that? There are reasons for these choices and actions you make, and it is your values that create these reasons.
By clarifying your values, you will be able to create a more realistic and vivid vision of your future.
One way to clarify your values is to think about what makes you truly happy.
There is someone puts it this way.
“I am happiest around the table with my family and watching my children eat their dinner with relish.”
He was filled with contentment and happiness at the thought of being able to provide his children with delicious meal.
It may come as a surprise, but most people are not truly happy because of material wealth, such as a big house or a luxury car.
When we think about our own happiness, we tend to focus on ourselves, as if we are the one who gets it, but the truth is that it is easier to feel happiness when we give to others rather than when we get something for ourselves.
In this way, the happiness you feel may be hidden in unexpected places.
First, clarify what makes you truly happy, and from there, expand your imagination to the future life, environment, and relationships that you desire.
Don’t think “I have to”.

In our daily lives and at work, our motivation for action is often based on the idea that we “have to” do something.
However, the trigger for action should be based on the criterion of “I want to”.
If you base your actions on “I have to,” your life will become boring, and you will not be able to live your ideal life.
So, even if you do the same action, what will change if the trigger for this action is different?
For example, let’s say that you tried something that you wanted to do and it didn’t work out. However, it was the result of a challenge that you wanted to take on, and of course you made the best effort you could to meet it.
If you acted in such a way, you can be satisfied that you did the best you could, even if it did not work out as a result.
On the other hand, if one acts because one has to, and the result is bad, then one will always be convinced that one did the best one could do. At that time, one will always come up with the excuse that he or she did not really want to do it.
In other words, the idea of having to do something makes it impossible to accept the consequences or take responsibility for them.
And motivation is different between wanting to do something and thinking that you have to do it. That difference in motivation will naturally affect the quality and results of your actions.
If there are winners and losers in life, most losers spend their lives surrounded by “have to” and never take responsibility for their actions.
In this way, the “have to” situation means that someone is controlling you. In other words, they feel that their actions are imposed on them by others, and they are unable to take responsibility and seriously work on them.
As a result, you feel that your life is boring.
Change your actions

By changing the trigger for action from “I have to” to “I want to,” you will become convinced of your actions and take the initiative to take action.
The way to achieve this is to take actions that are different from those based on the current belief system.
There was person had an opinion, but was unable to express it to his supervisor. However, one day he took the plunge and clearly expressed his opinion to his supervisor.
The next day, as if he had become a different person, he was able to actively express his opinions.
In other words, the person’s belief system changed because he acted in a way that was different from his own belief, which was that he could not express his own opinion to his boss.
In the same way, if you are bound by the “I have to” belief, you should try to do something that will change it.
For example, if you go to work at 9:00 every morning, try going to work at 7:00. Instead of going to work at 9:00 because it’s set to be 9:00, decide yourself to go to work earlier and take action.
This will give you a sense of doing things on your own, rather than feeling like you are being forced to do them. In fact, you will be able to use your time more efficiently, and you will even be able to tackle your work with a positive attitude.
As you change your action, your belief system is also rewritten. This allows you to take action based on the motivation of “I want to” do.
First Step starting today

In this article, we learned about the “Belief System”.
Our actions are determined by the beliefs we have created ourselves. If we can rewrite our own belief system, we can change our actions and even our limits.
By doing so, we can have our ideal self and ideal life that we have never imagined before.
First, take action to shatter your belief. That action will be the first step in your new life.
